Six New Things

Check six ministry resources in this weekly post.

In Spoken into Being:  Divine Encounters Through Story (Upper Room), Michael E. Williams explores the power of narrative and helps us tell our stories.  Storytelling prompts encourage conversation.

Again this summer, World Trust, producer of Cracking the Codes, is offering free resources to support conversation on race and healing.  See also our updated list of anti-racism resources.

Picture the Bible, a collection of 36 images and related books from the First Congregational UCC of River Falls, is introducing a curriculum for grades 3-8.  Downloadable student pages include discussion questions and activities.

Women’s Voices and the Practice of Preaching (Eerdmans) by Nancy Lammers Gross offers practical help for women who preach or lead worship.

The Cross+Gen Life Tour with Rich Melheim will come to three locations in Minnesota in July.  Let’s Kill Sunday School Volume 2 (Faith Inkubators) is available.  Karen Ware Jackson shares Cross-Gen Worship Resources.

According to The Confirmation Project, students consider topics related to the immediacy of God much more important than leaders or parents do.  Youth see baptism, communion and worship services as less important topics, but report learning a great deal about them.  New and forthcoming confirmation curricula abound:  contact us to consult.
