Six New Things

Check six ministry resources in this weekly post.

Way of Life (Abingdon) is a four-session DVD study with leader and participant guides based on Brian D. McLaren’s The Great Spiritual Migration (Convergent, 2016).  Seeking Aliveness (FaithWords), a 52-week devotional based on McLaren’s We Make the Road by Walking (Jericho), is coming in November.

Inviting Kids into the Trinity (Bookemon) by Anne Miner-Pearson describes a curriculum that helps children imagine and experience God as a flow of love.  Miner-Pearson’s work will be featured at The ConNext Summit in October.

Based on monthly themes, Faith Works resources for small groups, Bible study and worship are focused on spiritual discernment and daily living.  The current Narrative Lectionary resources will be joined by Revised Common Lectionary and non-lectionary options in January.  October resources on Courage are free to download.

Journey with Jesus reviews Disturbing the Peace (2016), a documentary about Israeli and Palestinian soldiers who become nonviolent peace activists.

Let’s Talk About Privilege, three lessons to download for grades 1-5, and Homegrown Faith and Justice from the Minnesota Conference UCC are featured by the Christian Reformed Church Network.

With God’s Country:  Faith, Hope and the Future of the Rural Church (Herald), Brad Roth sets forth a vision for vibrant rural churches.
